It was extremely fun to get the chance recently to showcase a rehearsed reading of Bradley One More Time – my first full-length one-person play.
The hour-long piece was read by the phenomenal Elliot Hadley, under direction from Anoushka Bonwick, and was showcased as part of Vault Festival’s A Pinch Of Vault initiative at The Glitch, London. Tickets sold-out well in advance, and it was really wonderful to hear the piece get so much laughter and support in the room after a couple of years of development.
Here’s a little synopsis:
As comebacks go, it’s up there with the Spice Girls at the Olympics, Cher doing Believe, or Kathy Beale climbing out of a taxi. Bradley is returning to drag for the first time in a decade – but when he learns that an unwelcome blast from the past is in the audience, he must decide if he’s truly ready…
I’m excited now to develop it further and hopefully give Bradley more stage-time in the not-too-distant future!
